What if we stopped focusing on the tortoise and focused on the hare? Many times, we have a hare in our families, a hare in our boardrooms, a hare in our lives, that is a part of us, an area where our light or strength shines brightly and may be ahead of the curve.
Maybe you feel too tall in some spaces, maybe you feel too thin in some spaces, too bright, too
pretty, too smart, too focused, maybe even too spiritual or too moral.
Dear Mr Hare, please don’t slow down. No one can be perfect, so if you’ve been gifted with a head
start, or good looks, discipline, opportunities, wealth, a loving family, please embrace it. Own it
proudly, and leverage it for greater results.
Do great things with your gifts, prove to yourself and others that you can win, and when you arrive, don’t sleep, go back and help others.
In lessons from the story of the tortoise and the hare, everyone cheered for the tortoise. But what if
the hare was the hero of the story? What if we looked at tips for the hare to not be tired, a coach to
teach the hare stamina and consistency?
There are ‘hares’ in our lives; there is a ‘hare’ in all of us. Sometimes, some people feel ashamed of
their gifts, or perhaps afraid of their light.
So, they dim or dumb themselves down in certain spaces or feel unworthy whenever they are given
a platform or step into the spotlight.
The hare did not ask to be fast; he was born that way. Find your gifts, own your spotlight, you
deserve a place at the top.
No matter how fast you are, keep running and keep improving. Remember, it’s not about who starts, or who is the most gifted that counts; it’s about you, can finish.
I’m here on the sidelines cheering for you. I can’t wait to see you win!
