Wisdom from lettuce and a refrigerator door

I bought a huge ball of crunchy lettuce, and would peel it leaf by leaf daily. It got to the size where it could fit in my refrigerator door, and since I love lettuce, I wanted the vegetable to be somewhere visible so that I could finish it quickly.

I put the lettuce in that morning, closed the refrigerator door and went about my activities for the day. Much later, I observed that the fridge would not close properly. I moved things around, but the problem persisted.

The lettuce sat comfortably in the compartment on the door of the fridge, so I didn’t think it was getting in the way.

After several attempts, I took the lettuce out and placed it with the other vegetables at the bottom, and the fridge door finally closed.
It made me begin to wonder, what is the lettuce in my life?
Something I love, that is good for me, but is placed wrongly and is negatively affecting my productivity?

Sometimes even good things may need to be paused, shifted or reviewed.

Whatever the reason you had to initiate them, maybe it’s time to review their place and impact on your life.

Who you were yesterday cannot fit into your today, and who you are today cannot fit into the tomorrow of your dreams.

We all have ‘lettuce’ in our lives, something good, but it is not done properly, something great that is not for now, something amazing, we never have enough time for, and we are losing opportunities because of it.

Will you be brave enough to look at your strengths, your schedule, your perspective, your best habits and dare to move things around?

The change may not be huge, it can be as subtle as pausing for 10 seconds before you step out of your car – if you drive yourself or using reminders and calendar apps on your phone, or even hugging your loved ones for one second extra every time.

‘Lettuce’ is good for you, but it might simply need a shift in timing or perspective to make your life ten times better.

What lettuce will you be shifting?

Rooting for you always, cheers!
